Access for people with disabilities to rehabilitation and re-education services and technical assistance

August 2016 – July 2017

Provide technical and financial support for people with disabilities who have low incomes to access healthcare.

OBJECTIVES

PROMOTE ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE

Facilitate access to the rehabilitation and re-education services and technical support provided by the Noor Hospital for people with disabilities with low incomes.

PROMOTE SOCIO-ECONOMIC INCLUSION

CONTEXT

People with disabilities are regarded as the most excluded population from medical and paramedical care. Indeed, based on the national survey on disability (2014), the general health care provided by the health system is inaccessible for 60.8% of people with disabilities. The deprivation of medical care, rehabilitation or technical support leads to the total isolation of people with disabilities and hinders their participation in social life.

OUR APPROACH

– Medical consultation to diagnosis a disability and / or medical prescription for people with disabilities that are up to two specialized consultations per year.

– Rehabilitation and re-education care (Kinesiotherapy, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, psychotherapy) for people with disabilities living on low incomes.

– Granting and creating orthopaedic equipment for people with disabilities living on low incomes.
