The AMH Group provides training for the general public and professionals on universal accessibility with the aim to build a city for all.

OBJECTIVES

CHANGE PERCEPTIONS
Raise awareness among society at large and create a constructive advocacy on ways to improve the accessibility for people with disabilities.

CONTEXT

6.8% of the Moroccan population have a disability, faced with a lack of accessibility, the public space becomes a cultural, social and economic obstacle leading to social isolation and discriminatory practices.

OUR APPROACH

The city of Casablanca is made accessible through four main channels :

  • Strengthening the capacity of local associations to lead successful advocacy campaigns on accessibility.
  • Raising the local public agents’ awareness on the priorities of accessibility.
  • Raising awareness among architecture and urban planning professionals.
  • Provision of an improvement accessibility programme for a segment of the city of Casablanca and preparation of the duplication of the action model.
